  • Birthdays around the corner?
  • Father’s day/Mother’s Day coming up?
  • Christmas will be here before you know it!
  • Kid forgot to tell you about a birthday of a friend, and no time to shop?

Who hasn’t had a kid that walks up and is like “oh mom,.. tomorrow is so and so’s b-day and i need a gift for the party”.. and you’re like UGH! wal-la! no more stress with a birthday box

In our house, we find deals, and then score! – just toss them in the Birthday or Christmas bin ( we keep a list on top of who’s getting what) that way we know who’s covered and who we still need to shop for..Shopping this way, makes the holidays so less stressful… we often ad other little items for those office parties, surprise party invites.

Christmas reflections…

Merry Christmas! ~ What is your Christmas tradition, here we do coffee or cocoa and hot sticky buns.. It has been a busy month, and this year I’m buying the buns, not baking from scratch. Actually my normal tradition is to bake up a storm. I made fudge, and I mixed up cookies but haven’t…

One of my best strategies is to pick up specific items our family uses, and then portion them out, vacuum pack, and tuck away …

Sometimes its instant potatoes, pancake batter, dry milk, rice, pasta, things that last a long time. …for a Sunday we run out, and don’t feel like a trip to town …Or the apocalypse ? I also find fruits and veggies that would normally die in the drawer, but now I dehydrate them with my new air fryer I scored at Walmart for $98. It air frys, dehydrates, reheats, its the bomb!

WHO LOVES STEAK!?

so we learned this trick a long time ago.. cause frankly, have you priced steak?!

steak can run anywhere from $3 per person up to i dunno $20? if you’re getting wagu?

SO I hit the $3.99 sale at yokes when it comes around

this one is roughly $7.50 well round to $8 because I like round numbers… ( costs have gone up since this was originally posted. )

  • I cut it into 3 pieces,
  • then (see pic) cut those horizontally into 2 each,
  • that’s 6 steaks – 2 meals for us.
  • That’s $4 per meal, which comes down to $1.33 per steak give or take.. the size of the london broil ( costs have gone up since this was originally posted. about $1 more ? )

These are my three most used water cups.. The blue on I like the handle, and it does a good job. It has a straw and a flip top.

the far right, pink one, I like for around the house, but the ice melts fairly fast.

The Contigo is my favorite by far. The ice is still ice 24 hours later.
