Our iris

We have several iris we have gotten over the years AND iris pulled from my mother’s garden (We kept hers isolated)

Current iris on the farm…

Our noIDs.

I thought it would be easy to id the ones of hers but, that has not been easy with so many looking nothing like hers.. I’ve tried to trace lineage to see if any of those match up and I’m so frustrated. Would love help from experts!

noID #1: I thought this one was Lent A Williamson…. the lines/veins on the haft seem to form more of a circle at the bottom, rather than the “butterfly wings?” as seen on Alkazar… (See comparison photo – last photo)

– has a fragrance,.. someone asked once if it smelled like root beer and so now that’s all I smell.. but I’m not sure that”s correct… this was found in a gully behind out old house. was pretty sure i had my one noid identified.. but there’s so many that are alike.. I’m in tears! Not knowing the names is making me lose my mind! Thought she was a Lent A Williamson and now I’m wondering if shes a Willam Setchell.

noID #2: My next noid also came from our old house. Shes beautiful and I have several of these..

am I looking at a Signs of Leo?

its grey/blue to the outer edge and yellow in the center, PBF is there. If memory serves she is a rebloomer. smells but I cant place the fragrance.

noID #3: This one was a gifted noid. I was thinking Superstition? maybe. She is very tall. The last plant to bloom, gets a little shade from the greenhouse and comes all the way up to my chest (Im 5’9″)

noID #4: Taller iris, (not my tallest ) I think this was a gifted one. Not very fragrant.

noID #5: also a gift. Fairly tall, No PBF

We also ordered Designer’s art and Ginnie Mitchell? ( doesn’t match either.

noID #6: Cutest lil bugger in the garden! looks a dwarf, but we will be keeping an eye on this one.. Later bloomer.

The next few are from my mother’s garden but do not match her list Those can be seen on her page, and I am also looking for all of those (except “Ugly Duckling” to add to our garden. )

noID #7: This one was from my mothers garden… but doesn’t seem to match anything in her list. I’ve looked into the parentage of hers and none of that seems to match either.

So I’m guessing its something she got elsewhere and Id love to get names to these as well.

noID #8: This one was also from my mothers garden.. not in her list, not in the parentage… This one is white with orange/yellow beard and yellow veins. Not very fragrant. (I’m going to compare it next year to my Immortality when it blooms. )

noID #9: This one was also from my mothers garden.. not in her list, not in the parentage… This one has a mauve tint to it, and a lighter beard, and green veins.

Compared petal to Immortality ( on left) very close, but not quite. ours are more green tinted

Pretty sure this is mom’s “Mohr or Less”. It came from her garden and has a lot of similarities, but not 100% sure yet. Doesn’t have the white stripes on the standards?
