Drywall done except for the wet wall (behind the sink) we will have a layers look on that wall.. ~wood slats..The window wall will be painted, and the other two walls will get brink paneling with a German schmear technique~ Stay tuned!

attic insulated, and stairs in ( yea! I hated crawling up the ladder)

September 5th, 2021 ~After applying a coat of the brown and then the “gemstone” (red), stain, in swirling patterns, I then took my paintbrush and some gold paint to accent some of the dings in the concrete. Adding more to our “Rock look”, The sealant was the easiest part, just pour and roll, we used two coats. and we are so in love with these floors!

Let there be light!

Painting my craft room..
I’ve dreamed about this for so long!
September 1st 2021~ I love Valspar products, and this time were using the fast prep on our concrete floors. It’s pretty easy to use, and doesn’t seem too caustic, but you should still don some rubber gloves, boots, and eye protection. Sweep, vacuum, mop, and while its wet, use a garden can to sprinkle the solvent on the floor. If it’s fizzing – it’s working, then just mop up the excess
( don’t let it pool in one spot.) Once dry we will move on to staining – stay tuned!

August 28, 2021
Ceiling paint, and wall paint finally going up…These two rooms and floors will be done in the next couple of days. Then we start moving stuff in! (Can’t wait to have a designated room for all my crafty stuff 😉 )

This house doesn’t sit on our property, but it is part of the story…
This was my mothers home, and many of the things I love, know and continue in her honor, all started here..
today I received word that the house burned down in a chimney fire last night. Lots of memories in this house, but since mom passed I don’t feel a real loss.. I’ll hold the memories close to my heart, and I’m glad mom wasn’t there when it happened.

One of the many tasks I have to tackle is a forestry grant, since the majority of our property is DNR forest land.
This area was so thick the tiny baby fir couldn’t be seen, now it has ample room to flourish.
2/27/2021

still cannot believe we build this by ourselves.

Stem wall day~
Again, huge thanks to everyone
for all their help~
Derek, Norm, Tj, Matt, and Max.
Even with the sudden downpour,
the blowout,
and the 2nd load of concrete,
this day was amazing!
Shop footer day! ~
Special thanks to Cary and Uncle Norm for all the help getting this part of the project done!
Living on several wooded acres,
can be a lot of work, but I’m quickly finding out
I really love the work that comes with it.
This is my favorite little lunch bistro
My favorite time of day, is in the early mornings when I get to spend quiet time with our forest friends… This lil guy joined me for morning coffee..
